Curried Pears

When I was young my mother would take canned peaches and broil them with butter, brown sugar and curry powder. The blend of sweet and savory was just perfect. The broiled fruit was soft, topped with a crispy caramelized crunch. A buttery smooth finish made the delicious dish a wonderful finish to our meal.  I decided that  should try this with some pears that I had. This is what I came up with. VERY easy.

Curried Pears

Curried Pears

2 cans of pears, drained
1 apple, pealed and cored
2 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Curry powder
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Walnuts, chopped

Put fruit in a baking dish. Sprinkle the sugar and curry on the fruit. Add walnuts. Bake at 425 for 30 min until bubbly.

This dish turned out well. It was so tasty.
